A cupcake for the Teacher
|
This week I found a blog by Teri called, A Cupcake for the Teacher . Normally I go straight to the about me section to read about the blogger so I can get a good idea of who they are. In this site I found out Teri is a mother, wife, and teacher. Teri teaches first grade and she is all about sweets and laughter. Her blog is so colorful and cupcakes everywhere. What I could not find out for my review was her last name, which is not bad I just am not able to share that. However, the site has tons of activity ideas for all kinds of different subjects. Also, she has freebies, which sometimes means you can get the worksheet or what ever it might be for that activity and print it out for free. I think this is amazing to have on your blog for teachers to come and look up activity ideas and be able to get the print-out for free. One blog, I wanted to check out was under pumpkins and it is called, Perfect Pumpkins { a writing craftivity}. The blog post is an activity you can have students do around fall time during their writing. She has a cute pumpkin cover and inside it is four pages. The students are supposed to write about how they carve a pumpkin. The cool part about it is that they have first, second, third, and last pages which gives them an idea of structuring. This is just one activity of a few others in the same pumpkin unit. I really loved this idea and one day will hope to use it with my students.
