While scrolling through the abundance of great teacher blogs I stumbled across #whatisschool and it caught my attention. My curiosity led me to Mr. Craig Kemp’s website Mr Kemp. Craig Kemp has been an educator for about 10 years and is currently the Head of Educational Technology at Stamford American School in Singapore. Craig Kemp has a bachelor of Teaching and Learning and a Google Certified Teacher. Craig Kemp is also the moderator and co-founder of the twitter educational chat #whatisschool.
Like mentioned earlier #whatisschool caught my attention and I wanted to know more about it. Kemp’s #whatisschool is an award winning twitter based ed-chat where educators from various parts of the world can come and express or share questions and responses about schooling. While scrolling through the twitter feed I found the #whatisschool is very unique and filled with great ideas for me as an educator to use in my own classroom. It's not only filled with ideas but experiences and recommendations from different teachers with different backgrounds in teaching. Having the ability to collaborate and share experiences or ideas with teachers from around the world with just a simple hashtag is amazing. This type of ed-chat alone can help even the busiest of teacher seek further development without ever leaving their classroom. The best part is that it is a weekly ed-chat. So it continues to grow not only with participants but with even more ideas, recommendations, and suggestions. Overall, I really enjoyed Mr Kemp’s user friendly website and praise him for his #whatisschool ed-chat.
